Radiant Heat

Imagine walking on your stone or tile floor on a bitter cold day…Now imagine it again, but this time your feet our drenched in a luxurious warmth that radiates through the rest of your body…

Welcome to your home with radiant heat.

Radiant energy transfer is caused by a warm surface giving up its heat to a cooler surface – in the above case – your body.

Radiant energy travels through space without heating the space itself. It only turns into heat when it contacts a cooler surface.

Your comfort relies just as much on radiant heat transfer as it does on air temperature. Yet most people think of hot and cold in terms of the air temperature. That’s why most people have no clue about how radiant heat works.

Radiant heat is actually centuries old.

The Romans channeled hot air under the floors of their villas. The Koreans channeled hot flue gases under their floors before venting them up the chimney. In the 1930s, architect Frank Lloyd Wright piped hot water through the floors of many of his buildings. So radiant heat is nothing new. Yet, it’s become very popular in recent years.

If you’d like to take a closer look at radiant heat for some, or all of your home – please call us for a free, in home consultation.

We’ll help you determine if it’s the right solution for you.
